Not just another conference.
Not just another kite trip.Since 2021, Kite Doctors has organised accredited medical education events at the world's best kite and wingfoil destinations. Bonaire 2027 is our fifteenth edition and our first in the Caribbean. Drawing physicians from Europe, the US, Canada and the ABC islands.
Mornings are dedicated to a scientific programme led by working physicians. Afternoons you take to the water at Atlantis Beach for kitesurfing and Sorobon Beach for wingfoiling, powered by the steady trade winds.
What sets us apart: we are physicians and athletes. The format works because it was built by people who actually live both worlds.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know.
Do I need to know how to kitesurf or wingfoil?
No. Beginners are fully welcome. Local certified instructors offer lessons at all levels for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. Lessons and gear rental are not included in the package, please book directly with our local partners.
Can I bring my partner?
If your partner is also a physician, they are welcome to register as a participant. If not, partners are welcome to join before or after the congress on their own arrangement. Bonaire is well worth extending the trip. The programme itself and the social activities is exclusively for physicians.
Am I expected to attend the full programme?
Yes. Full attendance at all sessions is required for accreditation. CME credits are only awarded to participants who complete the full programme. Cherry-picking individual sessions is not possible.
For which physicians is this conference relevant?
All medical specialties. Kite Doctors events are deliberately interdisciplinary and the mix of GPs, surgeons, anaesthesiologists, psychiatrists, gynaecologists and others is a feature, not a compromise. Previous editions have included over 15 different specialties.
What should I bring?
Boardshorts and bikinis ... no wetsuit needed. Sea temperature is 26–27°C (79–81°F) in March. For the congress: casual clothing. For the water: your own gear if you have it, or rent on arrival. Don't forget sunscreen, a rashguard, and your accredition details for credit registration after the event.
Is this event tax-deductible as a professional expense?
In most cases yes. Accredited CME events are deductible as professional education in the Netherlands and most EU countries. For US and Canadian physicians, the same generally applies. Always verify with your own accountant or HR department.
What is the accreditation worth in my country?
EACCME credits are directly recognised across all EU member states. USA: converts to AMA PRA Category 1 via a one-time application to the AMA. Canada: automatic RCPSC Section 1 MOC and no action needed. Latin America: via CONFEMEL. A step-by-step guide per jurisdiction is provided after registration.
What is the cancellation policy?
100% payment is due at registration. Full terms at kitedoctors.com/terms-and-conditions. We strongly recommend booking cancellation insurance for your flights independently.
What if there is no wind?
Bonaire has some of the most reliable trade winds on earth. That said, the schedule follows conditions and we never promise a fixed daily water programme. On days with less wind there is plenty to do: diving, snorkelling, exploring the island, or simply enjoying the Caribbean sun at 30°C (86°F).
