Where are the conference events held?

Kite Doctors has organized 13 editions since 2021, with past events in Tenerife, Cape Town, and Kenya, building deep experience in combining accredited CME with kitesurfing and wingfoiling at coastal destinations worldwide.

Our current programme runs across three pillars:

Bergen aan Zee, Netherlands: our home base, focused on Dutch and Belgian physicians. Dutch-language, 3-day format.

Dakhla, Morocco: our European edition, open to physicians across the EU.

Bonaire, Caribbean: our international flagship edition, bringing together physicians from the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and the local Caribbean region.

Our conferences are always multiple day-events and typically span 3 to 8 days, offering an immersive experience that combines intensive learning sessions with ample time for kite surfing, leisure and networking.

We limit the number of participants to ensure a personalized and interactive experience, fostering commitment and learning. The group size varies depending on the trip and location, but typically ranges between 15 and 40 participants per conference. This range has proven to be ideal for promoting interaction, networking, and a sense of community among attendees. Smaller groups allow for meaningful discussions and connections, while still providing opportunities for friendships to develop throughout the conference.

If one or more participating doctors speak a different language than the rest of the attendees, we ensure that English is the common language to facilitate clear communication and understanding for everyone involved. Alone

Many of our participants choose to attend a Kite Doctors conference solo, and it's perfectly normal and not intimidating at all. In fact, most attendees come alone and find it to be a rewarding experience, as it allows them to meet new colleagues and form valuable connections with fellow medical professionals who share a passion for kitesurfing and/or wingfoiling.

Colleague

However, we also encourage bringing a colleague or friend doctor along. Not only does this provide the comfort of a familiar face, but it also offers a practical benefit: you can share a hotel room and enjoy a more favourable rate for your participation. This option makes the experience more affordable and adds to the enjoyment of the event, as you can share the learning and leisure activities with someone you know.

If your partner is also a physician, he/she is welcome to register as a participant. If not, partners are welcome to join before or after the congress on their own arrangement. The programme itself is exclusively for physicians. Our courses are specifically tailored to create an environment where all participants share similar professional backgrounds, which strengthens the group dynamic and fosters meaningful connections. Including non-medical partners in the sessions may hinder this professional focus, as they may not fully integrate into the group or benefit from the medical discussions and activities.

That said, we warmly welcome your partner to join you either before or after the conference. Extending your stay together would be a perfect way to enjoy some personal time in the beautiful surroundings of our locations, complementing your professional development with relaxation and adventure.

For registrations made more than a year in advance, a 10% deposit is required, while full payment is due for all other registrations. The course fee includes everything you need for a seamless and enjoyable experience: the conference itself, accommodation, meals, drinks, expert guidance, party and transfers. Essentially, everything is taken care of except for your flight to and from the event location. Depending on the event, certain activities are offered as optional add-ons, such as kitesurfing or wingfoiling lessons, equipment rental, specialized clinics, yoga sessions, and mountain biking. This comprehensive package allows you to focus fully on learning, relaxation, and adventure without any worries.

Our conferences are designed with your convenience in mind, so you can focus entirely on your experience. If you prefer, you can travel with just your carry-on luggage. We generally offer the option to rent kitesurfing equipment, but many participants choose to bring their own gear. If you have booked kitesurfing lessons, all the necessary equipment will be provided. Before each event, we will send you detailed information about the conference, including what you should bring. In general, you only need to bring your personal items and suitable clothing for both educational sessions and sport/beach activities.

Conference costs are itemized on a single invoice for straightforward processing. Many participants cover the fee through a professional development budget or claim it as a business expense.
